November Wrap Up

Another month closer to Christmas!! I had a mix of productivity this month. I had a pretty solid writing month but didn't get that much reading done because of the sitcom curse... once I get invested in a good sitcom, I never want to pick up a book.
Here is my reading and writing wrap up for the month and more!
Writing
Word count: 23,111
Chapters completed: 6
Teaser:
“'I may be a monster but can you tell me you wouldn’t do the same to protect the people you love?'”
November was a steady month for me - I didn't write as much as I did in October but I did write every single day and kept up my momentum.
I also reached the halfway point of my first draft! The second half of my book is my favourite so I'm really excited to get into it!
I am a little concerned about the word count, though. My first half is 68k words so I can't see the overall manuscript being less than 140k. What's worse is that I already have notes and ideas of things I want to add in the second draft! It's going to be such a headache cutting these words down as well because I did such a comprehensive outline before going into this book and I have absolutely no idea which scenes could be cut.
Books
Books read: 3
Love Theoretically - Ali Hazelwood
Cleat Cute - Meryl Wilsner
Iron Widow - Xiran Jay Zhao
Favourite book: Iron Widow by Xiran Jay Zhao
This was easily my favourite read this month. Zetian was an awesome protagonist to follow. I love characters that are unapologetic and fierce and determined.
I also fell in love Shimin and Yizhi so hard! I love them both so much for such different reasons. Iron Widow is the perfect example of a love triangle done well - i can't get enough of them.
Recommendations
TV/Movie: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes
I read The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes book back in April and, while there were a few different
I also had to mention Superstore which I binge-watched all six seasons of this month... hence my measly number of books read.
I love sitcoms- they are the cozy and comforting watches that are the perfect remedy for anxious homebodies like me.
Music: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes soundtrack
This was another easy one for me. Between Can't Catch Me Now by Olivia Rodrigo and Rachel Zegler's rendition of The Hanging Tree, I was all in my Hunger Games vibes this month.
